Emerging Ecologies
Krishnapriya C P (Forest Way Trust)
Emerging Ecologies is an artistic collaboration with The Forest Way Trust, documenting Arunachala Hill’s transformation from barren land to a thriving forest through sustainable afforestation. The project includes a permanent exhibition at the Nature Interpretation Centre and an interactive website archiving research and artistic responses. It aims to bridge knowledge gaps in community-driven rewilding efforts, ensuring future generations can learn and replicate these strategies. By fostering awareness, engagement, and action, the project encourages environmental participation, ecological justice, and sustainability through ongoing updates, educational materials, and community-driven content.
Mapping Nature’s Palette for Climate-Responsive Artisanal Practices
Tri-Impact Global
The project leverages native and invasive plants in the Garhwal Himalayas for sustainable natural dye production, empowering tribal communities to map and utilize local flora. Integrating art, culture, and sustainability promotes eco-friendly practices, preserves biodiversity, and addresses climate challenges. The initiative supports economic sustainability by enhancing artisans’ livelihoods and developing local supply chains for natural dye resources. It also fosters social sustainability by revitalizing traditional skills, empowering indigenous communities, and promoting inclusivity. Ultimately, the project reduces reliance on chemical dyes, preserving both the ecosystem and cultural identity.
