Providing free, equitable and quality primary and secondary education for the children of Delhi, to promote opportunities for their upward social mobility and social inclusion, is a prime focus of the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. Towards this end, the Directorate of School Education Delhi has partnered with Macmillan Education, India and the British Council to reach 40,000 Class 11 students to improve their English-speaking proficiency and communicative competence.

Project Spoken English started in May 2019 and will end in June 2019.

In Year 1 the project reached over 11,000 Class 11 students in 2018.
