Meet the Scholar 

Nilanjana Maulik 
2011 Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholar
University of Stirling

Nilanjana Maulik is the Secretary General of ARDSI Calcutta, a Fellow of the Commonwealth Association of Aging, and a Master Trainer from Alzheimer’s Disease International, London. She holds three Master’s degrees, including Sociology, Human Services Management, and Dementia Studies, with additional specializations in End of Life Care and Spark of Life Philosophy. With 30 years of experience, including training in the USA, she returned to India in 1999 to build ARDSI Calcutta into a leading dementia support organization. A National Awardee for “Best Dementia Care Worker,” her work focuses on improving dementia care and support across India.

About the Poster

"Dementia in Kolkata: Building Awareness and Educating for Change"

ARDSI Calcutta has been addressing the growing dementia population for the past 25 years via education on early signs, prevention, and care strategies to reduce stigma, promote early intervention, and support families along with public outreach efforts to foster a more dementia-friendly community. 

The poster highlights via illustrations the objectives to achieve via awareness building of dementia in the community, the achievements establised due to it and finally the impact on the community as the intended outcome.
