The art of telling a story is timeless. As a working professional, if you want to engage audiences, communicate your messages more effectively, inspire and influence others to take a desired action, the course on ‘Storytelling at the workplace: Communicating with impact’ contains the insights and skills you need.

This six-part digital course will help you discover how to plan and structure a story and practice delivering it to a group. You will explore ways to approach storytelling strategically to communicate, influence, present and collaborate in your own authentic and engaging style to connect to an audience.

Overview 

Humans have always told stories and they're a vital part of our daily communication. The best part is that we are all storytellers. But how can storytelling be used as a powerful tool in business communication?  

Storytelling today is a strong business skill and when implemented effectively, it can boost a business in a number of ways, such as employer branding, improving customer loyalty,  creating a strong marketing strategy, problem solving leadership communication and so on. Corporate Storytelling requires creativity, vision, skill, and practice. Join this workshop series to understand the skill of persuasive business storytelling and learn the process of achieving mastery by crafting your own stories through individual, pair and group work.

Module 3 - Techniques and Templates For Corporate Storytelling

  • Learn two effective techniques of storytelling for business presentations. 
  • Explore different approaches and storytelling templates in business situations.
  • Understand the different elements of articulating or narrating a business story effectively.
  • Learn how to craft a persuasive business story using different storytelling approaches.

Module 4 - Types of Storytelling

  • Understand the power of stories by exploring the science of storytelling.
  • Understand Aristotle’s model of persuasion.
  • Recognize four types of storytelling used in business situations.
  • Three ‘S’ strategy of effective storytelling.

Module 5  - Designing a Business Story with Impact

  • Recognize the essential skills of an influential storyteller.
  • Understand the skillset required to be both an effective storymaker and a storyteller.
  • Decode the rules of persuasive storytelling. 
  • Discuss the origin and concept of “Story Hives” in corporate storytelling. 

Saturday 24 June

Module 6 - Power of Storytelling with Data

  • Understand the What, Why and How of data storytelling.
  • Learn how to analyse the context of your data.
  • Explore the concept of Data Visualization. 
  • Recognize the importance of de-cluttering data and getting your audience's attention.
  • Learn the art of converting data into effective stories 

Sunday 25 June
