Young Minds for a Compassionate World is a collaboration between Victoria Memorial Hall in Kolkata and Natural History Museum in London, two iconic institutions of India and the UK. The overall aim of the project is to use nature and wildlife photography to amplify, champion, and celebrate the voice of young people by providing them with an international platform to share their experiences of the natural world.
33 students participated in a six-day photography and conservation training programme earlier in 2022. Aged between 15-22 years, the students worked with alumni from the Natural History Museum’s iconic Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, conservationists, and filmmakers for building skills on photography, learning to communicate unique perspectives, and contribute towards empowering communities to conserve nature and build sustainable practices.
The exhibition at the Victoria Memorial Hall will feature a collection of 115 photos of the workshop participants and will encourage discussions through the perspectives of young people, who will use their own images and words to tell the stories about their local community and environment during a global planetary emergency.

Timing: 10.00 – 18.00 hours
