About the Programme

Macmillan Budding Traveller is a programme which aims to encourage students to view travel as a learning experience and develop storytelling skills to share their experience. When students explore historical monuments, natural landscapes, or vibrant local cultures, they connect with India’s rich heritage and diversity.

These real-life encounters bring classroom lessons in history, geography, civics, and science to life. As they share what they saw, ate, or did, students develop essential skills like communication, curiosity, and critical thinking. Macmillan Budding Traveller celebrates responsible travel, as students develop ecological awareness, empathy and sensitivity to local communities, and cultural traditions. Thus, children see themselves not just as tourists, but as mindful participants in a vibrant, interconnected community.

This programme will give students an opportunity to observe, reflect, and creatively document their travel through videos and photographs – turning every trip into a learning journey.
