Foundational Learning Forum: What’s Working?

Date: Monday, 1 September 2025
Time: 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM
Venue: Auditorium, British Council, New Delhi
Format: In-person

About the Forum

Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) are the cornerstones of all future learning. India, through the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the NIPUN Bharat Mission, has committed to achieving universal FLN for children in Grades 1–3 by 2026–27. Encouraging progress has been made, as reflected in the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER), but much more remains to be done to ensure every child learns equitably and sustainably.

The forum will bring together policymakers, school leaders, educators, researchers, and experts from India and across the world to reflect, share, and learn from each other’s experiences in advancing FLN.

Highlights of the Forum

  • Insights and reflections from policymakers, academics, and education leaders
  • Early insights for Indian stakeholders into the forthcoming Global Education Evidence Advisory Panel (GEEAP) 2025 Report on Early Literacy.
