Enjoy cultural experiences for free at the British Council Library, every Friday night. From cinematic journeys at our film screenings to literary explorations in the Writers' Club, the Poetry Circle, and the innovative Book Club, each event is thoughtfully curated to inspire personal growth through film, literature, and community engagement across our centres in New Delhi, Kolkata, and Chennai.
Theme: COP 30
Scheduled to take place in Belém, Brazil, in 2025, the conference holds particular significance as it will focus on implementing and strengthening commitments made under the Paris Agreement. COP 30 aims to accelerate global action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, protect biodiversity, and support developing nations in adapting to the impacts of climate change. Set in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, the conference will also highlight the vital role of indigenous communities and natural ecosystems in safeguarding the planet’s future.
Where: British Council Library in New Delhi, Chennai, or Kolkata on Fridays.

| Movie Screening: Eve (21 mins 7 secs, 2020, UK) Directors: Joya Berrow, Lucy Jane , Producer: Orban Wallace Eve is the intimate story of a nine year old girl living in one of the oldest off grid communities in the UK. Following her journey returning to school and becoming a young climate activist, her story encapsulates the human complexity of navigating the environmental crisis and what moving to live off grid really means for a UK family. Joya Berrow and Lucy Jane make films that focus on climate justice, land and ocean regeneration, extreme sports and amplifying marginalised voices in the climate movement to use film as a tool for positive social change.
