First celebrated in 2001, the European Day of Languages (EDL) aims to celebrate Europe's rich linguistic and cultural diversity. The day not only promotes and reinforces the plurilingual skills and intercultural understanding existing in the continent but is also an opportunity to acknowledge all of Europe's languages, including those that are less widely spoken and those that have migrated with their populations.
The programme will include reading of excerpts from iconic pieces of literary works in English, German and French and the translated works in Indian languages.
The program is open for all and entry will be through RSVP. For any queries, you can also write to us at IndiaLibraries@britishcouncil.org.
