What You’ll Learn?

This course will help you to develop your skills in the following areas: 

  • Conversation Skills: Become a more confident and fluent speaker through lots of conversation practice. Develop your ability to ask a range of questions appropriate to different situations. 
  • Group Discussion: Learn techniques to participate effectively – giving your opinion, interrupting politely and reaching an agreement. 
  • Presentation Skills: Gain confidence presenting and speaking on a range of familiar and unfamiliar topics and learn to structure and organise what you want to say. 
  • Extempore Speaking: Deliver short on-the-spot speeches with little or no planning time; practise techniques for speaking spontaneously. 
  • Interview Practice: Learn about the types of questions you may be asked, how to answer them, and practise role-play interviews as both interviewer and interviewee, with feedback on your performance. 
  • Pronunciation Focus: Develop your pronunciation skills, including word stress, sentence stress, intonation, connected speech and the sounds of English. 

Each level of Spoken English has three 30-hour modules. You’ll build your confidence and fluency through real-world topics.The modules combine input, practice and output tasks so you develop a full range of Spoken English skills. 

Assessment & Feedback 

Each module includes a mid-course progress check, an end-of-module test and a 1 on 1 feedback session with the teacher at the end of the course. All students also receive a detailed feedback report and certificate for completing each module/level.
