Role overview
The AARMS coordinator will facilitate and coordinate the India-based mentor group by conducting a series of webinars to ensure an alignment of approach to mentoring and the action research process. At the halfway point in the scheme we plan to participate in a symposium event on classroom-based research. It is envisaged the coordinator will help set the agenda of the symposium, based on their assessment of the needs of the mentor group, as well deliver some of the sessions either face-to-face or via Skype. At the end of the data collection period the coordinator is expected to offer support and guidance to the AARMS mentors as they collate their experiences and findings to present in a public forum. On completion of the scheme the coordinator will produce a report on AARMS in terms of its outputs, successes and challenges.
The coordinator roles will include the following activities:
- taking part in mentor shortlisting and selection
- participating and contributing to the mentors’ induction into the scheme
- delivering mentoring activites to support the needs of the group
- conducting monthly meetings with the mentors
- setting the agenda and delivering sessions for the symposium on classroom-based research
- offering guidance and support to the mentors in their collation of findings and experiences
- submiting a report to British Council India.
A proposed timeline is presented below (expected total number of days: 25).

Qualifications and experience required
EssentIal
- MA in ELT / Education
- experience in mentoring
- experience of supporting classroom-based / action research activites in a range of contexts
- awareness of and experience in practices relating to at least three of the four themes: assessment, multilingual education, innovation and ICT, 21st-century skills in the classroom
- awareness of issues related to education in India or a similar context
- experience of leading a project
- experience delivering webinars and working remotely
