The British Council, in partnership with The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), is organising an international symposium bringing together teachers, teacher educators, researchers, school leaders and other professionals working in English education.
The symposium will explore how English teaching, learning and assessment are evolving in response to diverse classrooms, new technologies, changing expectations and artificial intelligence. Bringing together research, practice and international perspectives, the event will create a space to share ideas, discuss emerging challenges and explore practical approaches for teachers and learners.
With a focus on the Indian context, the symposium will connect current priorities in English education with national developments, including the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education 2023, alongside relevant research, resources and professional learning from India and around the world.
The symposium brings together teachers, teacher educators, researchers, academics, school leaders, education professionals, teacher trainers, professional learning providers, education institutions, policymakers and other stakeholders interested in English education.
Five areas shaping the conversation
