Before we are writers, we are readers. Books inspire us, but how do we jump from the act of reading to the act of writing? Come join our Lit Space for our in-person series of writing workshops on Prose and Poetry as we investigate the journey of a writer from putting down a book to picking up a pen. Participants can register for either of the programmes or for both.
These workshops will help you:
- develop imaginative responses to texts
- give expression to your own ideas
- identify your own creative style
- develop critical reasoning abilities crucial for writing
- develop a basic understanding of characterisation, narration, mood, and diction (prose) and voice, diction, rhyme, syntax, tone (poetry)
- collaborate with other writers and have your work scrutinised and critiqued in a supportive environment
Important note: This workshop will have a writing hour for which you will receive feedback on your work from the trainer.
