Join the British Council for a literary gathering with Aditya Tiwari, an acclaimed poet, broadcaster and former BBC producer, who hosted the BBC’s Voices series on men’s mental health and received the India-UK Achievers Honours at the UK Parliament. He will discuss identity, resistance and the pull of home through the poems of All That’s Left Behind.

Moving between the personal and the political, the collection reflects on the places that shape us, the experiences that transform us, and what we carry long after life has changed. From childhood and desire to queerness and the meaning of home, these poems invite readers to consider what remains after departure, loss and transformation.

British poet Bhanu Kapil calls it a “luminous collection” in which “impossible compressions accrue”, while poet Daljit Nagra calls it “wise and exciting” for the way it imagines “the mythic, the political and the personal”. The book offers a thoughtful exploration of the connections between memory, identity and belonging.
