Stories Across Borders: Reading, Memory and Imagination
As part of the UK Year of Reading, the British Council invites readers, students, educators and literature enthusiasts to an engaging conversation with Geetanjali Shree, one of India's most acclaimed contemporary writers and author of the internationally celebrated Tomb of Sand around her latest book ‘Once Elephants Lived Here’.
In this special event, Geetanjali Shree will be in conversation with Anuradha Kapur, distinguished theatre director, educator and former Director of the National School of Drama. Together, they will explore how literature, theatre and storytelling shape our understanding of identity, memory, language and belonging.
Participants will also have the opportunity to engage with the speakers during a live audience Q&A session.
Presented by the British Council in partnership with Penguin Random House, this event aims to inspire meaningful conversations about literature, creativity and cultural understanding, demonstrating how stories can build empathy, broaden perspectives and connect people across borders.
