As part of the National Year of Reading, join us for a conversation with Dr Nishtha Lamba, author of Trauma Nation: Fighting India's Silent Epidemic.

In this compelling and timely book, Dr Nishtha examines one of India's most overlooked public health challenges: trauma. Drawing on extensive research, real-life accounts, and her experience as a medical professional, she sheds light on the human and systemic impact of injuries caused by road accidents, violence, falls, and other emergencies.

This session offers a unique opportunity to engage with an important national conversation on healthcare, equity, resilience, and reform through the lens of powerful storytelling and lived experience.

About Dr Nishtha 

Dr Nishtha Lamba holds a PhD and MPhil in Psychology from the University of Cambridge and a BA from Hunter College, City University of New York. An associate professor of Psychology at Middlesex University Dubai, she leads two labs in Social Psychology and Trauma. Her current research develops new approaches to healing trauma through technology. Lamba is committed to making the science of mental health accessible beyond academic circles.
