We invite you to visit the ARMS Poster Exhibition showcasing the Action Research Mentoring Scheme (ARMS), a flagship British Council initiative that awarded grants to teacher educators and academics to mentor small groups of English language teachers in conducting classroom-based research in multilingual contexts.
Launched in June 2024 and completed in May 2025, this year-long programme created a structured framework that enabled teachers to experiment with new approaches, strengthen reflective practice, make informed pedagogical choices, build professional confidence, and enhance student learning outcomes.
Applications were invited from institutes and organisations across India specialising in English Language Teaching. The 2024–25 ARMS awardees were the
- Department of English Language Teaching (ELT), Gauhati University
- Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM), Kancheepuram
- National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal.
The posters on display present the research questions explored by participating teachers, highlighting real classroom challenges and the systematic inquiry undertaken to address them. Together, they reflect sustained professional growth, collaboration, innovation, and the vital role of teacher-led research in shaping multilingual and equitable classrooms.
We look forward to welcoming you to explore these inspiring research journeys.
