Dr. P.Shanmugam is Chief Scientist Group Leader for Environmental Engineering and Sciences at CSIR- Central Leather Research Institute, Chennai.
Dr Shanmugam completed his PhD through Commonwealth Fellowship in Civil/Environmental Engineering at Leeds Univ.UK. He has received Ex President Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Memorial Best Scientist Award 2027 from the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on Independence Day. Dr Shanmugam has also received the Peter Wilson Award by British Nuclear Fuels Ltd and Leeds University, 2009 and is a UNDP/GEF Fellow
