The British Council India's Study UK open day 2026 brought 43 leading UK higher education institutions directly to 19 schools across North and East India, creating opportunities for students, parents, teachers and counsellors to engage with UK university representatives and explore a range of higher education opportunities available in the UK.
The programme was delivered through two regional tours:
North India – Lucknow and Kanpur (27 to 31 July 2026)
East India – Bhubaneswar and Kolkata (3 to 7 August 2026).
Through university fairs, direct counselling and one-to-one conversations, the programme enabled students to gain first-hand insights into studying in the UK and make more informed decisions about their future academic and career pathways.
The initiative also provided UK universities with an opportunity to engage directly with schools, counsellors and prospective students across these regional markets, while gaining valuable insights into the aspirations, interests and questions of students considering international higher education.
