On Monday, 25 August 2025, the British Council in India, on behalf of the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission, organised a hybrid pre-departure briefing for Commonwealth Scholars from India, Malaysia, and Fiji. The session ran from 12:00 to 18:00 hours and was followed by a joint networking reception with Chevening Scholars at the residence of the British High Commissioner.
The comprehensive briefing provided scholars with essential academic and cultural information, useful resources, and practical guidance to support their transition to life and study in the UK. The highly interactive session featured Commonwealth alumni who shared personal stories and insights from their time in the UK, offering inspiration and encouragement to the outgoing cohort.
The day culminated in a vibrant reception hosted by Lindy Cameron CB OBE, the British High Commissioner to India. The event celebrated the scholars' achievements and aspirations, with Ms Alison Barrett MBE, Country Director India, British Council, extending her heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the departing scholars.
The atmosphere was one of excitement, pride, and anticipation, as future changemakers from across the Commonwealth gathered to mark the beginning of their transformative journey.
