Online Safety and Guidance:

  • We expect you to maintain professionalism, respect each other, not post any objectionable comment/picture and not use derogatory language during the fair. In case of such incidents, you will be requested to leave the fair.
  • We advise you to keep your video turned off and mic unmuted until asked by the moderator (host/co-host)
  • Request you to not share your screen or any file with universities on the zoom link

Safeguarding

A child is defined in the British Council as anyone who has not reached their 18th birthday (UNCRC 1989) irrespective of the age of majority in the country where a child is, or their home country.

Adults at Risk are people aged 18 years or over who: identify themselves as unable to take care of themselves or protect themselves from significant harm or exploitation; or are understood to be at risk, which may be due to frailty, homelessness, mental or physical health problems, learning or physical impairments, and/or impacted by disasters or conflicts.
British Council puts a strong emphasis on Safeguarding Children and Adults from any abuse, harm during any physical or online event.

To safeguard yourself during the fair, it is advisable to adhere to the following guidelines-

Safeguarding policy

If you are below 18, parents/guardians are requested to go through the Parent’s Guide under 18 and It is advisable to attend the fair in the presence of parents or guardians.

If you are above 18 you are requested to go through the Adult participants guide

Online Safety for participants 

All British Council Staff is mandatorily trained regarding Safeguarding policy. We have mentioned a point of contact from our staff in case of any concern during the event. Also, there will be dedicated British Council staff in each University room who can be contacted in case of requirement.

The British Council will use the information that you are providing in connection with processing your registration and to send you event updates and a feedback questionnaire.
