What is the training about?

As part of our Employability offer, the British Council has created

(a) Core skills training modules for vocational education master trainers, trainers and leaders;

(b) Skills-for-schools resource kits for upper primary school teachers.

This ToT pertains to (a).

  • Core skills trainings relate to vocational-trainer training modules that help trainers embed fundamental employability skills into the main curriculum – known as Core Skills. The British Council has adapted, from its Schools team, two of the modules for use with vocational education trainers – ‘An Introduction to Core Skills for Trainers’ and ‘Critical Thinking and Problem Solving’.

The British Council will be rolling out these core skills training modules with master trainers, trainers and leaders in Industrial Training Institute (ITI) and Polytechnics – both government and private - as well as other vocational training institutes throughout the country

In order to conduct these trainings, we would require freelance Training Facilitators who have attended the ToT sessions and are validated by a British Council expert.

What happens after attending the training?

Applicants who attend this training will be validated, and if successful, would enter into a freelancer contract with British Council to lead and deliver Core Skills training interventions to master trainers, trainers and leaders in Vocational Education institutions and/or training for skills-for-schools resource kit to upper primary school teachers and head teachers as and when organised by the British Council. Frequency and date of subsequent trainings cannot be confirmed at this time. The objective is to develop a pool of talent to work with the British Council over the next 10 months and any extension beyond this period. (The British Council pays highly competitive remuneration to its training facilitators)

“All participants who have been validated at the workshop will receive a certificate.”
