Impulse is a dance programme with a biennale showcase. It aims to foster creative exchanges between established and emerging dancers and choreographers, showcasing new work in India and establishing networks between India and the UK.

Our focus during the Impulse Fringe (2013-14) was on fostering new relationships between the UK and Indian dance sectors, forming creative networks, capacity building and skills development for Indian choreographers, dancers and practitioners and creating new work which we showcase around India, bringing the best of contemporary dance to existing and new audiences.

After successful showings and a gamut of educational outreach projects with Akram Khan Company, Scottish Dance Theatre, Aakash Odedra Company, Protein and Champloo in seven cities over eight months, Impulse – the season of contemporary dance from UK - is all set to return in 2014-15. It now aims to strongly engage with audiences in more cities with more showcases, exciting educational packages and engagement opportunities.
