Creative writing is something that every child has tried with varying success. But every parent who's serious about sharpening their child's writing knows what it takes to hone the skill. If you're not sure where to start with their creative writing journey, we recommend that you check out module 2 of our six-week online course.

Specially designed for 11 to 14-year olds, the course contains exciting lessons on the strategies behind creative writing, blog writing, poetry, travelogues, writing interview articles, screenwriting and creating characters. Your child will gain insights into how to make their writing stand out. Next batch starts on 20 August.

Kids will also get to analyse popular pieces from renowned writers and build a writer’s portfolio comprising their own writing.  In interactive classes, they will learn to implement writing techniques, take part in discussions and provide peer feedback, all of which will help them master their writing. 

NB: This course will not include academic or technical writing

Age group: 11 to 12 years | 13 to 14 years 

Course duration: 18 hours I 6 weeks I weekend online classes

Course fee: INR 7,500 per participant

Special discount for British Council library members: INR 6,500 per participant on course fee.

Required English language level: Anyone who has completed British Council's Creative Writing for kids or anyone who has English advanced level (C1 and C2).

Writing Poetry   Travel and place writing  Writing interview articles   Profile writing   Screenwriting	Analyse classic and contemporary poems. Use various literary devices to write original poetry. Explore the world of travel and place writing. Discover the various facets of people’s lives through interviews and  then write about them. Write scripts for the screen which could develop as movie or TV show scenes.	Learning will happen through online classes using zoom platform. Participants should use their own laptop/desktop to attend the session. Recording/taking screenshot/photos of the course is strictly prohibited.
