Stuart Slade is a playwright based in London

Stuart Slade is a playwright who has had work performed around the world as well as in London's West End.

His work is darkly comic but full of humanity and well worth reading whether you are a theatre lover or not!

Stuart's play Cans  is a meditation on family and how we can reconcile someone's personal and public persona.

BU21  is a brilliant depiction of how a tragedy can affect different people and ultimately help us grow.

Stuart's five picks:

  1. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by Jack Thorne
  2. Iphegenia in Splott by Gary Owen on Digital Theatre Plus (available to library members)
  3. Secondhand Time by Svetlana Alexievich
  4. The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
  5. Pomona by Alistair McDowall
