FameLab is the world’s leading science communication competition. In 2018 Bangladesh participated for the first time. After winning the regional finals, Alvee Islam travelled to Cheltenham to compete.

Alvee’s story is an inspiration to anyone thinking of studying science or applying to Famelab.

FameLab is the world’s leading science communication competition. Participants have just three minutes to win over the judges and crowd with a scientific talk that excels for its content, clarity and charisma.

Cheltenham Festivals produced the first FameLab in 2005. A partnership with the British Council since 2007 has seen the competition go international, with more than 10,000 young scientists and engineers participating to date.

Selected participants join an exclusive two-day intensive masterclass led by expert UK trainers.

FameLab Alumni have given TEDx talks, written books, presented television programmes, started science communication companies and become successful researchers able to communicate effectively.

We’ve got plenty of science books and resources at the British Council Library to get you started. Click here to join.
