  • pursue undergrad or postgraduate level study anywhere in the globe
  • apply for a Tier 4 Student Visa at an educational institution that is a Tier 4 Sponsor in the UK
  • work in an English-speaking nation for a professional company

Choose IELTS General Training test if you plan to:

  • study or train below degree level

IELTS on paper or computer?

IELTS can be taken on Paper (test takers to sit at a desk with the question papers and answer sheets for the Reading, Listening and Writing tests) or on Computer (test takers to sit the Reading, Listening and Writing tests in front of a computer with the questions presented on the screen). The Speaking test is carried out face-to-face with a trained IELTS examiner either in-person or via high definition video-call.

Either way, you will be taking exactly the same IELTS test, with the same test content and structure. The only difference is that you can choose to type your answers or write them on paper – whichever suits you best.

With computer-delivered IELTS, you will now have more test dates to choose from - and your results will be available in 3-5 days. However, paper-based IELTS results will be available after 13 calendar days from the test date.

You can now choose test type as per your requirement and decide which format is good for you to take test.

We wish you the very best of luck for your IELTS test and hope you enjoy mastering your technique with the help of these preparation materials.
