about the Event

Writer’s Mantra aims at providing a ‘kick-start’ to the writing talent of individuals from varied backgrounds by introducing them to the nuts and bolts of ‘professional’ story writing and providing them with tips and tools for penning ‘publishable fiction’

Content and Learning Methods

This workshop will be a combination of practical techniques and approach to the creative writing process and hands-on exercises. It will cover important aspects of professional fiction writing like:

  • story ideation, development and written expression
  • dynamic methods of character designing
  • plot points, setting, dialogue & descriptions
  • different writing styles and genres 
  • tips on getting your work published. 

Who can attend:

Creative individuals from all walks of life, 14 years and above.

about the Trainer

Chetan Joshi is a Pune based writer with a flair for fiction from the absurd to star raving reality. His book Blind Man’s Buff, the first spell of short stories, has been highly commended by David Crystal (author, The Cambridge Encyclopaedia of the English Language), and has been translated in Marathi (titled Andhali Koshimbir). His graphic book, Animal Palette, with artist Tejas Modak, was nominated for the Best Book and Best Writer at Comic Con 2012. Literally Yours, his novella co-authored by Asha Francis, was launched at the Jaipur Literature Festival 2015, and his latest book Cocktale Carnival is a collection of diverse short stories.
