Folklore around the world  

This workshop is based on different folklore around the world and the idea is to make it interactive and make young adults learn about certain social aspects and help them in understanding certain social message through story telling method. Through this workshop we initiate the method of storytelling inspired by Godfrey Duncan. The idea of the workshop is to build different aspects of language by introducing creative writing skill. Through this workshop we would also encourage young adults in enhancing their public speaking skills, self confidence and also in helping them in developing objective and creative thinking.

Future Focus: A workshop on writing science fiction 

Overview

Do you enjoy science fiction? How about writing one of your own where you can fuse imagination, science and technology and creative language usage to produce something unique of your own. Game? So here we go.

Learning Objectives 

  • Understand the basic elements of a short story 
  • Understand the nuances of science fiction and what sets it apart from other fiction
  • Look at the subtle differences between science fiction and science fantasy

Benefits

  • You will be introduced to excerpts from books on science fiction by a few well known authors
  • During the workshop you will write a short piece of science fiction and share exciting ideas with members of your peer group
