Want to nurture your passion for drama? Imagine yourself playing different characters and eventually taking the centre stage with this theatre course from 20 June to 2 July at the British Council, Delhi.
The programme will be led by eminent storyteller and theatre artiste, Dr. Jaishree Sethi. With over 20 years’ experience in radio, TV, and theatre, Dr. Sethi has enthralled kids nationwide with her enthusiastic storytelling and animated voice. She has performed in acclaimed plays like Dara Shikoh, Woh Afsaana, Check & Mate, and Chacha Chakkan.
This 20-hour course is designed to teach kids about how a play is conceived, developed, and scripted. They’ll learn the fundamentals of body language, voice modulation and projection, facial expressions, stage decorum, and coping with stage fright. Lessons on character analysis, stage lighting, direction, sets, costume and props, backstage management and teamwork are all part of the curriculum.
Children will get an opportunity to put up a theatre performance at the end of the course. They’ll receive a certificate of participation on successful completion.
Course fee - INR 7500 (non-refundable) for a 20 hour-course held two hours per day
Special discount of INR 1,500 for Delhi library members (eligible membership categories are Individual, Family, Online, and Teaching Centre Memberships)
Date, days and time - Monday to Friday, 20 June - 2 July 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Final performance - Saturday, 2 July 2022 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
