With particular attention to state education systems, this review draws on an international body of educational literature to highlight different ways in which teacher evaluation can take place and makes recommendations for teacher evaluation in English language teaching.
Exploring teacher evaluation processes and practices in India: a case study
This case study aims to explore in detail the current Indian context with regard to teacher evaluation. It complements the global literature review (Borg, 2018) published concurrently by the British Council, allowing an in-depth analysis of a single education system. It aims to identify existing teacher evaluation scenarios in India, and presents a range of perspectives on the features of systems and tools currently in use – both those that are positive and those that are seen to need improvement.
This event will include an introduction to both publications, a panel discussion followed by a networking reception.
