A Story Illustration workshop inspired by Beatrix Potter 

a workshop for children 

On the occasion of 150th birthday of Beatrix Potter, British council has organized for a story illustration workshop for children. In this workshop children will be introduced to Beatrix Potter’s style of illustration.

Beatrix Potter is world renowned children’s author, illustrator and conservationist. She is best remembered for her best-selling children’s books, such as, The Tale of Peter Rabbit. Stories that combined her love for both animals and the English countryside. From early childhood, Beatrix Potter was fascinated by Edward Lear's nonsense rhymes and limericks. She studied book illustration from a young age and developed her own tastes. She wrote and illustrated 28 books that have been translated into more than 35 languages and sold over 100 million copies. The immense popularity of Potter's books was based on the lively quality of her illustrations, the non-didactic nature of her stories, the depiction of the rural countryside, and the imaginative qualities she lent to her animal characters.

About Facilitator

Bharat V is a practising artist. He has a master’s degree in visual arts from college of fine arts, Chitrakala Parishat, Bangalore. He has taught visual arts to kids for 4 Years. He is a freelancing documentary filmmaker for NGMA.
