1. Shakespeare for Children

2. Film Screening: “Hamlet” starRing Maxine Peake
3:00 pm – 5:30 pm at British Council, Bangalore
From its sell-out run at Manchester’s Royal Exchange Theatre comes a film version of this unique and critically acclaimed production of Hamlet, with BAFTA nominee Maxine Peake in the title role. This groundbreaking stage production, directed by Sarah Frankcom, was Royal Exchange’s fastest-selling show in a decade. Hamlet is brought to cinemas by film director Margaret Williams, whose Written on Skin (Royal Opera House/BBC) won many awards including the Diapason d’Or. The film version of Hamlet is produced by Anne Beresford and Debbie Gray, the team behind the highly praised Peter Grimes on Aldeburgh Beach, which Margaret also directed.
This film is appropriate for 12 years and above. Children below 12 years should be accompained by parents.
3. Talk: SHAKESPEARE - So what the fish is all the fuss about?!
6:30 pm – 8 pm at British Council, Bangalore
Unravelling the mysteries of the bard and why the world is still so obsessed with him 400 years on. Follow me on a journey through time back to the Elizabethan age – to the turn of the seventeenth century - back to Shakespeare’s London. A talk by Anirudh Nair of Wide Aisle Productions.
