Rhyme and meter: Poetry workshop

Saturday, 13 August 2016 -
10:00 to 12:30

About the workshop

Poetry is the easiest skill to cultivate because it needs no heavy equipment – just a new pair of eyes, a new way of looking at things. By learning five forms of poetry, come let’s find the sense in words, in a frame: as small as a haiku, as shaped as a diamonte, as recurring as a ghazal, as fun as a limerick, or as branching as an acrostic. Poetry is the candy-crush saga of tales.  And if you ain’t already hooked, it is about time you should. It’s a way of looking at everything through a softer lens. Poetry is a life skill. Write. Share. Question. Consider. Discuss.
