A city deserves to celebrate its birthday. And Madras, that is Chennai now and a vibrant city, certainly deserves to celebrate. We are partnering with Stella Maris College for a our celebration of the city’s rich heritage and culture. 

As part of UK/India 2017 Year of Culture BFI in partnership with British Council is releasing over 250 newly digitised films titled India on Film: 1899-1947 Treasures from the BFI National Archive.

We will be screening one of the films on Madras - Mylapore Tank and Religious Processions (1932) as part of the Madras week celebrations at Stella Maris College 

Programme Schedule 

The ten minute film titled 'Madras - Mylapore Tank and Religious Processions' will be screened on 28 and 29 August at 9.30 a.m., 12.45 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. during the following programmes.

Exhibition: Bioscope and cinematic Madras – 28 August from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.

Heritage walk with a visit to their archives – 29 August from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon.
