Inspire your inner storyteller!

Tuesday, 8 November 2016 - 9:00am to Sunday, 20 November 2016 - 8:30pm

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

The programme introduces the art of storytelling to children and adults to stimulate their creative talent and help them in developing their listening, comprehension and storytelling skills, and enhancing their imagination through creative exploration of stories. The programme includes workshops and performances by eminent storytellers from the UK - Giles Abbott, Katy Cawkwell and Sarah Rundle - who will also be performing at the International Storytelling Festival organised by Kathakar in New Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai.

ABOUT THE PERFORMERS

Katy Cawkwell: Katy Cawkwell is a performance storyteller dedicated to create contemporary solo performances for adult audiences, based on traditional source material. She has been working as a professional storyteller since 1996 in venues across the UK and Europe.

Giles Abbott: Giles Abbott started storytelling in 1999 in response to sudden and serious, but not total, sight loss in 1998. Giles performs regularly at major storytelling festivals. Giles was awarded the solo commission (adult) for Edge 2007, for which he composed a new telling of the Irish epic “Deirdre”. He continues to perform in clubs all over England.

Sarah Rundle: Sarah Rundle is a professional storyteller and actor based in west London. She is trained in community storytelling in South Cheshire, and in acting at Drama Studio London. Over the last ten years she has performed at a diverse range of venues. Sarah’s storytelling for adults has been likened to stand-up comedy with a plot. She likes to weave complex tales, stories within stories, and have unexpected twists.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

The workshops are open to teachers, trainers and anyone who is interested in storytelling and the performances are suitable for adults and children above the age of 7 years.

Registration: Per participant Rs. 2500/- for members and Rs 3000/- for non-members.
