The British Council, in full partnership with English and Foreign Languages University (EFL-U) Hyderabad will host the International English Language Teacher Educator Conference in Hyderabad from 21 - 23 February 2014 with support from the English Language Teachers’ Association of India (ELTAI) and the International Association for Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (IATEFL).
The broad theme of the conference is Innovation in English Language Teacher Education, addressing the roles of exploration and experimentation through technology and other innovative and pioneering practices.
"Any system, in order to be forward looking, must be bold in encouraging experimentation and innovations and also be involved with constant review of the outcomes of such efforts. The field of teacher education should be no exception." (National Curriculum Framework for Teacher Education 2009/10 pg 83)
The following sub-themes further outline the focus of the conference:

- Technological resources for language education
The conference will showcase innovative practices in English language teacher education in India and from across the world, and feature international plenary speakers and workshop leaders.
