About Roald dahl

Roald Dahl was a British novelist, short story writer, poet, screenwriter, and fighter pilot. His books have sold over 200 million copies worldwide. Dahl's works for children include James and the Giant Peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, The Witches, Fantastic Mr Fox, The BFG, The Twits and George's Marvellous Medicine. His adult works include Tales of the Unexpected.

So come let’s celebrate Roald Dahl's birth anniversary.

about the workshop

  • Introduce Roald Dahl to the young reader
  • Read short stories by Roald Dahl - "Danny the Champion of the World” (on which “The Big Friendly Giant” or BFG is based), or any other story
  • Introduce ourselves as, and with, our favourite character
  • Create a short enactment with the participants based on the short story

The workshop will be followed by a cake cutting ceremony.

Time: 17:00 hours to 18:00 hours

Age group: 15 years to 20 years

Registration is on a first-come first-served basis. The workshop is open to all members and non-members of the British Council Library.
