As Madras turns 380 years old, British Council is celebrating Madras Week to commemorate the history, heritage and a rich culture of Madras. As a part of these celebrations, join us for an array of events ranging from film screening to Human Library at British Council, 737 Anna Salai, Chennai 600002.

Film Screening of Sarvam Thaala Mayam

A musical drama, that revolves around a mridangam maker’s son who aspires to learn the instrument from a Maestro and must cross social and personal barriers to reach his goal. Screening will be followed by discussion with the director Rajiv Menon.

Human Library 

The Human Library concept is of a library that lends people rather than books. The ‘Books’ are people who have experienced prejudice, social exclusion or stigma, and they are ‘borrowed’ by ‘Readers’ who can ask any question they like, to both learn about the other person and challenge their own prejudices.
