About this course

Summer School is a fun-filled, project based course that happens once a year at the British Council Teaching Centres in Kolkata, Chennai and Delhi. Children  improve their English  by engaging in script writing, story telling, plot and character development and much more, putting together a spectacular show for their parents at the end of the course.

30 hours

Mon-Fri (3 hour classes per day)

Every child on the course will get an opportunity to participate in the Global Young Learners’ Art Competition organised worldwide.

Summer School is a great opportunity for children to be introduced to a range of Shakespeare’s plays and Roald Dahl's stories. They will have the opportunity to experiment with drama and theatre. The course is designed to help students overcome stage fear, build confidence and work together.

Fun methodology, dedicated teachers, limited students make this course a very enjoyable way of focusing on English.  On the last day of the course, you will be invited to watch your child perform the class's version of one of Shakespeare's plays or Roald Dahl’s stories.

LEVEL TEST AND COURSE REGISTRATION PROCESS

Step 1: Book your level test

To book a level test appointment in Chennai visit: https://bookeo.com/elcchn-britishcouncil

Step 2: Your level test

On the day of your appointment, allow up to 60 minutes for the level test. Please ensure you arrive at least 10 mins prior your appointment time with a valid government photo id. Your test will consist of a pre-test for 10 minutes followed by a written test for 60 minutes and will end with a speaking test with one of our teachers who will also guide you with the course option(s) suited to your level and requirements based on your test results.

Step 3: Course registration

We offer various course timings to suit every need. We advise you to register as soon as you can to confirm your place on the course since early applicants will receive priority.

As with other organisations and institutions, we are closed on some holidays. All classes which fall on a public holiday will be made up to ensure that the syllabus is still covered.

LEVEL TEST AND COURSE REGISTRATION PROCESS

Step 1: Book your level test

To book a level test appointment in Kolkata visit: https://bookeo.com/elckol-britishcouncil

Once you have done your booking, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. A reminder will also be sent to you 24 hours before your test date.

Step 2: Your level test

On the day of your appointment, allow up to 60-90 minutes for the level test. Please ensure you arrive at least 10 minutes prior your appointment time with a valid age proof ID and complete registration by paying INR 500/-. Your test will consist of a written test for 30 minutes and will end with a speaking test with one of our teachers who will guide you with the course option(s) suited to your level and requirements based on your test results.

*Candidates below 18 years are required to be accompanied by an adult and produce a valid age proof identification document with them on the day of level test.

Step 3: Course registration

We offer various course timings to suit every need. We advise you to register as soon as you can to confirm your place on the course since early applicants will receive priority.

* As with other organisations and institutions, we are closed on some holidays. If you lose more than one class due to public holidays, the teacher will conduct a make-up class and ensure that the syllabus is still covered.

LEVEL TEST AND COURSE REGISTRATION PROCESS

We conduct level assessment tests at the Delhi centre from Monday - Saturday from 0930 - 1630 hours. 

Step 1: Book your level test appointment

Once you have done your booking, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. A reminder will also be sent to you 24 hours before your test date.

Step 2: Your level test

On the day of your appointment, allow up to 30 minutes for the level test. Please ensure you arrive at least 30 min prior to your appointment time to complete registration by paying INR 600/-. Your test will consist of a written test for 20 minutes and will end with a speaking test with one of our course counsellors who will also guide you with the best course option(s) suited to your language level and needs based on your test results.

*Candidates below 18 years are required to be accompanied by an adult and produce a valid age proof identification document with them on the day of level test.
