*one mock test for 15 classes and two mock tests for 30 classes which is outside class hours. 

 

How does Skills for IELTS work?

Skills for IELTS allows you to choose the intensity of learning as per your needs and personal schedule. Preparation for the IELTS exam can be through our one-week* comprehensive preparation course or a longer duration** ideal for those who have study time to prepare extensively.  

*For upper intermediate and advanced levels: One mock test of all four skills outside class hours.

**For intermediate-level students: Two mock tests of all four skills outside class hours. 

Course packages and price

When you register for Skills for IELTS, you can either purchase an intensive or extensive package.

The course packs are as follows:

We encourage you to book and attend a complimentary orientation session before starting classes. 

How to register

Step 1 Ascertain your level of English (Refer to the easy self-assessment method below). Identify whether you are at Elementary, Pre-intermediate, Intermediate, Upper-Intermediate, or an Advanced level. Skills for IELTS registrations are accepted for intermediate and above levels only.

Step 2 Go to the online registration link here.

Step 3 Add your details, choose the course of your choice, English level and course type (intensive = 15 classes or extensive = 30 classes).

Step 4 Submit your details and make payment online.

Step 5 After your payment has been processed successfully, you will receive a confirmation email on your registered email id.

Ascertaining your level to register

To be able to register for Skills for IELTS, it is important you ascertain your current level of English skills. You can do self-assessment using the simple can-do statements as follows:

  • You are an Intermediate level(B1) if you can share your thoughts, opinions, and views. For example: She must be really tired. She’s worked late every night this week.
  • You are at Upper intermediate level(B2) if you can present clear, detailed descriptions on a wide range of subjects related to your field of interest. For example: Unfortunately for him, the situation turned out to be opposite to what he thought it was.
  • You are at Advanced level(C1 & C2) if you can present clear, detailed descriptions of complex subjects. For example: Being born and raised in India, I believe her to be the country’s best ambassador in the world

Note:  Skills for IELTS registrations are accepted for intermediate and above levels only. If you are in doubt just register for the level that you think is appropriate and in the post-registration orientation session our expert academic team will help you ascertain and choose the correct level.  We will be with you every step of the way and ensure the best learning pathway to achieve your goals.

  • Skills for IELTS Listening – you will be equipped with listening strategies such as predicting information, identifying synonyms and antonyms and dealing with distracting information, in order to correctly answer all IELTS Listening question types.
  • Skills for IELTS Reading – you will learn how to apply reading skills such as skimming and scanning, and techniques such as identifying synonyms and antonyms to tackle all IELTS Reading question types.
  • Skills for IELTS Writing Academic – you will encounter a comprehensive set of activities to maximise your score on IELTS Writing Task 1 and 2. You will learn how to identify key features and fully respond to the task prompt in order to meet expectations for Task Achievement, as well as improve your grammar and vocabulary.
  • Skills for IELTS Writing General Training — you will complete a comprehensive set of activities designed to address the specific requirements of the IELTS General Training test. For Task 1, you will improve your ability to write personal letters using an appropriate tone, and a range of fully connected sentences. For Task 2, you will develop your ability to write an appropriate essay in response to a question. You will learn to fully respond to the question in order to achieve your best possible result.
  • Skills for IELTS Speaking – you will take part in speaking tasks and activities designed to maximise your score across all four assessment criteria: Fluency and Coherence, Lexical Resource, Grammatical Range and Accuracy, and Pronunciation.
