Rowan Kennedy is the Deputy Director of the British Council in India.
Rowan joined the British Council in 2012 as part of the press and communications team in London before moving to Kazakhstan in 2014 to set up the Newton Fund. In 2017 he became Deputy Director Kazakhstan and was responsible for managing British Council’s English, Exams, Education and Society portfolios, and leading business development. From September 2019 to August 2020 he was Country Director Kazakhstan.
Before joining the British Council, Rowan worked at the Department of Health and Portland Communications, a London-based international PR agency. He studied French and Russian at the University of Sheffield, and also studied at SOAS, University of London, where he got an MA in International Studies and Diplomacy.
